Heart Evangelista for Ponds

Heart Evangelista on her influence and social media, “I show them the reality of my life.”

Heart Evangelista wears many hats and she does so rather gracefully.

Heart has earned a reputable status in the entertainment, arts, fashion, and beauty.

Her multi-faceted career ranging from show business to art to philanthropy only brims with enviable success.

But behind her desirable yet inimitable achievements, Heart lives not a faultless life.

KAPUSO PROFILE: Heart Evangelista: Winning by Surrendering

She admits, “Opposite to what you see on social media, I don't live a perfect life.

“And I go through my own set of hardships; I experience inner hesitations and self-doubt like every other woman.

“And you know, I have had lot of let downs in life.”

Heart instead looked at her unglamorous situations as beautiful episodes for growth and realization.

She says, “That kind of, you know, develops your character and your individuality to love yourself and treasure yourself.

“And you know, again, you've given enough of yourself to the world and it's time to actually just focus with everything just around you and your own little home.

“And once you've mastered that, and once you've treasured yourself, then the rest of the world and what they think kind of fizzles away.”

Heart also notes, “I've also learned that it's important to overcome those inner voices of self-doubt and to just go for it, because if there is anything I've learned, overcoming those hesitations can transform you into a beautiful and confident person.”

As an empowered woman, Heart knows she can make use of her influence to empower other people too.

Heart intentionally uses social media platforms in particular not to impress people but to impact them and inspire them.

She claims, “Whenever there are interviews, I actually don't mind because I love talking about, you know, the not so good things [that] have happened in my life.

“I'm very open about that because I want people to see that we go through the same things, you know, I mean, we don't have perfect lives and so that's why I really enjoy yung mga ganito.

“So, through social media, through YouTube, especially, I show them the reality of my life and hopefully with whoever is watching they see na 'Oh! okay, ganon pala yun,'” she adds.

Heart identifies with Pond's #SeeWhatHappens as she shares her stories of struggle.

“It's a beautiful campaign that brings to light the human truth that even the most confident women experience self-doubt - that can actually hold them back.

“This is the reality and nobody's perfect.

“But what's important is to transform those moments of inner hesitation into moments of inspiration,” she concludes.
